Kathryn's "K" and "R" Flannel Quilts
I collected a bunch of yellow, turquoise & green flannel fabrics to make a rag quilt for my oldest. I wanted to make it VERY special, so I cut 6" squares. Since I had varying number of squares and I wanted to make this a quilt just for her, I used graph paper to "chart out" where each fabric would be in the quilt. I designed the quilt so that there is an "K" in the middle of the quilt. The charting took some time, but we are all pleased with the result. Since I had so many squares left over and she didn't want to take this quilt to camp to "give away" her real name, I made a quilt with an "R" in it for Raccoon - her camp name. The quilt is backed in Raccoon fabric from the backyard Bandits line.
