Lynn's Quilt

I made this quilt for my sister-in-law. It was a study in contrasting value. Also good practice for cutting and sewing 2.5 by 2.5" squares. My goal was to be able to arrange the blocks in either one orientation or 90º to it, thereby proving my scant 1/4" seams were the same either way. I got close, but one direction was consistently 1/16 - 1/8" greater than the other. Good practice though and with a few more quilts under my belt, I believe I have now conquered the scant 1/4". There wasn't enough contrast between the light blocks and the narrow border, so I added a flange all the way around to set those blocks off from the border.
