Sea Turtle Challenge
My local quilt guild had a President's Challenge last year - a mystery quilt that started with two contrasting fabrics and created an interesting interwoven effect. I chose a turquoise batik with a turtle pattern, and a gold batik for contrast. Once it was pieced, it looked to me like turtles swimming under a woven reed netting. I quilted on my DSM, outlining the turtle shapes and making watery swirls between.
