"I'm sorry, Dave . . ."

HAL 9000, from Arthur Clarke's book/movie, "2001: A Space Odyssey," just seemed to be the perfect match for my next "I Walked the Line" No. 11, quilting challenge. I wanted to do another PAYG (Piece As You Go) quilt using hexagons, and this time I used Leah Day's "super spiral" method from her book "EXPLORE Walking Foot Quilting. Instead of doing a spiral though, I quilted a hexagon spiral-type shape around HAL. I love the look of the hexagon spiral (and HAL!) and plan to make a larger quilt like this one using the same quilting method.
