Crazy Memories
I took over care for my dad after my mom passed away in 2009. As he grew sicker I could no longer spend long hours in my sewing room down stairs so over the last few years had completely stopped quilting. As my stress grew worse dealing with all things dad, my urge to quilt kept getting stronger and stronger and finally I couldn't wait another minute. I cleared out the dining room and turned it into a sewing room. For my first project back after not sewing at all for 4 or 5 years, I decided to make a crazy quilt. I fell in love with one I found in an antique shop when I was a little kid and vowed to have one of my own someday. I'm in my 50's so decided if it was going to happen I'd better make my own. One square of each row has a center that features either one my my kids, or something I love. I also decided to make it a quilt as you go project. I made it for my bed, but found I didn't really like sleeping under it, but it looks awesome on the back of my couch. It really brightens up the living room.
