The Never Ending Quilt

My sister and I started a class together to make a "Stitcher's Garden" quilt . She seemed to lose interest in sewing and later we learned that she was ill, so I decided to sew my version of her quilt as well as my own. She choose a wine color fabric as the base, which was quite a challenge for me. I also decided to quilt it myself, QAYG, with some machine quilting and some free motion, which I'm just learning. She doesn't have a bed skirt, so she wanted it long enough to cover her queen-size bed. It took me 1 1/2 years to finish it, but she is delighted with it and I learned so much making it.
