2nd Anniversary (cotton gift)

My husband Ryan and I have been married 2 years. The traditional gift to give is cotton. That is pretty easy when you love fabric so much. I wanted to make Ryan a throw with fabric that would depict his personality. Ryan studied at Yale in his 20s and fell in love with the sea. Living is the Midwest it is hard to be near anything that is sea related. I saw the fabric of More hearty good wishes and fell in love. I looked through all the tutorial to find one that I could do. I chose Borded squares to do. I got my layer cake and started cutting during my cutting my rotar cutter slipped and I wrecked 2 squares. I went with a solid fabric and bordered it with it also. I learned how to really line my fabric up and it was a great learning experience. I was making the quilt in secret and I got to surprise my husband and he was very thrilled.
