Friendship Star (Quilts 2, 3, 4 & 5)
In the second quilting course that I took, we made a small Friendship Star Quilt. While picking my fabric for this class, I decided to make two of them in different colours. One in brown, olive & burgundy, and the other in blues, purple and smidge of teal. Once I started cutting, I discovered that I had bought enough fabric of each to do the required 3 block x 3 block quilt for class, but I also had enough to do another 2 block x 2 block in each colour as well. I figured I'd just handle all 4 quilts as an assembly line, and I'd be done in no time. It was a good idea in theory, but I wildly underestimated how quickly my enthusiasm would wane when doing each step 4 times over before moving onto the next step. Could explain why it took me 3.5 years to complete them all. Lesson learned. The green ones and the small blue one went to my long time friends, and I kept the larger blue one for myself. I have it hanging on my office wall at work.
