5 Minute Quilt Block by Suzanne McNeil

I made this for the First Lady of a local church in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Wendy Barnes and I attended KU at the same time. She was in the doctoral ahead of me and often allowed me to use her books,saving me HUNDREDS in book fees! To repay her, I made her this beautiful quilt in her honor. Funny side note: I was so green to quilting that I thought the pinwheel was a cross and that I was making a religious emblem in honor of Wendy's status at her church! LOL My favorite part of this quilt was the piecing on the back. Wendy is from the south and I loved adding the chickens as a nod to her southern heritage!
