My first quilt

This is my first quilt. I made this quilt for a friend to give her at her baby boy shower. The quilt is made from old and new materials and was all machine pieced and quilted. The quilt has not been washed since I finished it, I am curious to see what it will look like after it is washed. I used the back of the quilt brought around for the binding because I was running out of time to finish. My drawing started out with the six inch nine patches alternated with six inch baby print material. I added the side borders cut from the extra strip pieced rows that were used in making the nine patches. I finished the quilt about 2 hours before the baby shower. I made mistakes that I left in the quilt and one that I ripped out and fixed. I learned a lot while making this quilt. I will be doing a baby girl quilt next. I will also try and keep my finger a little further away from the rotary cutter, no worries though, I didn't get any blood on the quilt.
