quilt for baby Jude
This crib quilt is for my grandson Jude that is due in July. This is the third quilt I have finished, all have been crib quilts. I made the front from fat quarters and yardage. The appliques of the giraffe and elephant were a challenge for me but I got them made. The back is from a small fat quarter bundle of flannel materials. The cloud material on the back glows in the dark. I made the binding this time instead of using the back to wrap around for the binding. I figured I might as well use a decorative feather stitch to stitch the binding down. The quilt is pieced and quilted by machine. I did fusible applique and hand stitched them with a black blanket stitch. I just did a diagonal grid on the top quilting and went around the appliques. My edges were a little wavy but you can't tell too bad.
