I am a Canadian snowbird and spend Dec to May in Florida. This is where I met a fabulous woman who introduced me to the world of quilting (about 18 months ago). She taught me a lot about the right way to quilt, took me to quilt shops and even a quilt show, as well as a terrific workshop. In January 2015, she had a stroke which has left her mostly paralysed on her right side and unable to speak but a few words. She did not go to Florida this year and I missed her. Hopefully, she will be back this year, although I do not think she will be able to quilt again. However, I will always be grateful to her for sharing her knowledge of quilting. Thankfully, the Craftsy website, the Internet in general and many, many bloggers have helped me progress. I love quilting and will continue to try new projects. Maybe I will even post a photo of a lap quilt to this website one day.
