The quilt was inspired by the images of sheep on the Moda fabric and the historic site where I volunteer. Pennsbury Manor's sheep are a favorite of visitors of all ages. This quilt uses a traditional star pattern for the center madallion and is bordered with pinwheel blocks. The finished size is 58" x 63".

Kitty Cat

I made this one for a friend as a thank you gift. Using a charm pack plus a few quarter yard cuts, I was able to get a good sized lap quilt measuring 62" × 70". I named it Kitty Cat because of the tiny black cat in one of the prints, and because my friend is named Katherine.

Sister Sampler Quilt

This quilt was a sampler that I did with my sister. She was learning and I said I would take the class with her. We were supposed to make a crib size quilt in the class but as usually I just couldn't do what I was supposed to. My sampler expanded (I had a few new blocks I wanted to try) to an almost King Size quilt. Again, this quilt was quilted by Tracy Bentley of Maple Leaf Quilting Company.

Summer Solstice Queen Quilt

This quilt was created as part of the Summer Solstice Quilt Along at Happy Quilting. I added the border to increase the size to a queen. The quilt is made entirely from Kona Cotton Solids. Each of the 9 blocks are made from 3 different colors in the same colorway, for a total of 27 different colors with solid black. The quilting is an allover medium meandering stitch in black thread on Mrs.Singer, my antique 31-15 which has a patent date of 1896 and could have been made as recently as 1930. Panel Play

When I need a quilt for a donation or to try out a new thread or design for quilting or just as a last minute gift, panels make a great way to start. This quilt used a panel with 15 preprinted blocks and added 5 fabrics in colors and prints that coordinated with those blocks. 2 strip sets - one with the red and the white fabric and one with the blue, green and yellow - were used to make 2 x 2 blocks and the remaining filler blocks.

Quilt and Toddler Apron for Granddaughter

I made this quilt for my granddaughter's first birthday. Her name is Ruby and the fabric line is called Little Ruby--perfect! I kept the quilting minimal--just basic outline quilting. The second picture is an apron I made for her from some of the leftover fabric. She likes to help her Mom in the kitchen so I plan to give this to her on her 2nd birthday.

Basic Carpenters Star

It was already November & I was holding my head trying to think of meaningful Christmas gifts for my elderly father, my brother & my two son-in-laws. It had been an awful year; my Mom had passed, my sister-in-law had passed & each of my son-in-laws had lost a parent. I NEEDED to give them each something personal that would show how much I cared. I wasn’t sure that I could get my act together quickly enough to complete 4 quilts, but decided that I would choose a simple pattern with minimum colors, although I did want each quilt to have a different color scheme. Worse case scenario? I would give them a quilt that had been begun, but not completed. Fast forward...the quilts were completed by Christmas morning. Once one of them had been completed, the others followed pretty quickly. I know I had angels on my shoulders those few weeks while sewing. This quilt was given to my son-in-law.

Carpenter Star

A friend asked me to make a quilt for her to give her sister as a wedding quilt. She choose the Carpenter Star and choose the colors to represent the bridesmaids dresses and the colors of the bride's home. (Navy, maroon and gray....the colors are slightly off in the pictures.) Sundrops Magic Diamonds Table Topper

I started my Sundrops (by Corey Yoder, for Moda) in the Magic Diamonds pattern so long ago! I worked on the individual squares on and off for about 3 years now, putting them away, making another quilt, then taking them out again. I "finally" finished this project. Since I did not have enough squares to make at least a twin size quilt, I went with a table topper. The backing and the binding is done in the strawberry print from the collection. I did a simple loop pattern for the quilting. It looks great with my "fall silk flower" arrangement. I have to update my silk flowers suitable for summer!

Moda Love Star Baby Girl Quilt

Saw this cute Free Pattern from Moda. I use 1930’s fabrics from my stash and added the light gray dots for border and a pink ‘30’s for binding with a light pink Minky on the back. I used a simple all over daisy quilting pattern with a light pink thread. This quilt too is for one of the young Moms at church. This was a fun, quick, and easy quilt pattern. Will have to make more.

Fall Baby Girl Quilt

I needed yet another baby quilt. Found these fat quarters in my stash, added some background white and...another baby girl quilt is born. I only had the FQ left overs for the border and binding and I think it worked out well overall. Had enough scraps leftover for one burp cloth. This was a free pattern from Amy Smart. She has 3 different star pattern on her blog for free. I used Riley Blake white on white swiss dot for background and Wheat threat for the quilting in my fav daisy, butterflies and hearts.

Carenter's Star For Good Friends

We did a 5,000 mile road trip this summer visiting friends and family. A long time friend and past coworker of my husband's retired to Tennessee. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time with them. They have a painting with these colors in it...so hence this quilt. This was fabric from my stash. I love the teal blue with the fall colors. I used minky for the backing and wheat thread for the quilting.

Baby number 4

One more baby quilt for our Covid baby boom. Mom and Dad have chosen an airplane theme for the nursery. I found this pattern on Etsy and added the clouds and checkerboard border. White minky on the back. The tan plane wings have the baby's initials. The pattern is Squadron Leader by Carla Morris ( Granny Maud's Girl). Quilted swirls and jet streams behind the planes. I used some of my favorite fabrics from my stash. I love how it cameout.

Christmas Tree Quilt---A Corey Yoder Pattern

This is a fun pattern. The little stars are a finished block of 2.5 inches square (very tiny pieces). After my first bunch and tryiing not to lose points in the seams, I worked very hard toward accuracy. They did become addicting and I ended up making three of these quilts. This one finished at 60 x 60 with a 5 block x 5 block layout. The original pattern finished at 60 x72. If you've got Christmas fabric stash -- this is a really pretty one to make up. I used white paper grunge as the background.
