Carolina Pride

After realizing I hadn't made a wedding quilt for a niece, I found a bit of Carolina Panthers fabric on sale at the quilt shop. I picked up some white, turquoise and black to go with it and set off to find a pattern. I ended up using the "Hugs & Kisses" pattern from Connecting Threads - 52 weeks of free. It allowed me to fussy cut the panther faces for the cornerstones. This quilt also reinforce a hard lesson about measuring the borders. I had the quilt on the quilt frame, and it wouldn't lay flat. I ended up taking it off the frame, ripping out the bottom borders and taking out about 2 1/2 to 3 inches out of all three. I'll still shake my head whenever I see it, but my niece and her husband, the diehard Panthers fans, just love it.

Ups and Downs

This is the first time I used the Accu Go to cut out quilt pieces. I also used transparent threa. To keep the thread from breaking, I put the spool into a jar at the back of my machine and it made the thread flow without breaking.

Labor of Love

This quilt is for my son. He selected the pattern "In The Middle" by Amanda Jean (Crazy Mom Quilts). I needed to enlarge it for a king size. It was quilted using "Bubble Vines" pantograph an King Tut thread. I chose the name Labor of Love, because only my 2 children deserve a quilt with this much love put into it. Used Tri Rec template for cutting triangles. Fabrics chosen by my son.

Scrappy Pumpkins

I kept seeing such cute pumpkin quilts online and on Instagram and I knew I had to make one too- we just moved into a new town and we are really sprucing our our new house. I found this pattern on Craftsy, by Must Love Quilts. I added 2.5in sashing and a 5.5in border. I used some of my stash fabric and I bought more from my LQS. On my pieced backing, I stitched down some of the selvedges I used. I absolutely love how this turned out and it's perfect for keeping warm all autumn long!

Scrappy Happy Grey Lone Star Quilt

{Quilt #7} I used betteroffthread.com's tutorial for a half lone star quilt. I added the boarder down the side for balance and also added a row across the back using the same fabric as is in the star. I don't recall the exact measurement but it was made as a baby gift for the child to grow into.
