    Micro Typewriter Name Tag

Needing a nametag for guild meetings, I stumbled across Heidi Staples (fabricmutt) Typewriter Mini Quilt and seen her swag buttons for Quilt Market which was an image of the quilt with "Fabric Mutt" on the paper. I knew I wanted to remake it - but name tag sized. :-) So, with the help of the computer program and a number of hours, I remade her pattern that was traditionally pieced and finished at 29"x31" into a micro sized paper-pieced headache of 78 pieces that finished in under 4.5" square. The smallest pieces are approximately 1/8" and over half of the pieces are 1/4" square. I turned it into a name tag / cell phone holder to wear around my neck for guild meetings and events. That way in the event I'm wearing something without pockets, I can still have my electronic leash (cell phone) with me and have my hands free. :-) Considering it's purpose, I really did not take the time to make sure the binding was straight, or anything like that. The actual piecing took me approximately 3 hours that was constantly interrupted to play with my 2 year old, and it took me approximately 1 hour with playtime interruptions to turn it into the fully lined cell phone holder / name tag that you see. And yes, I am FULLY aware that the seams on the keyboard do not line up. If you're on a laptop or desktop computer, take a look at the keys, do they line up? Nope! ;-) Yes, it was intentional, that's why they are all the same amount shifted from the previous row.
