I am hoping mice get along with hedgehogs! The Simple Daisy panto mimics the daisies in the orange fabric. By LindaV 12 LIKES | 624 VIEWS Cascade This is a quilt for my sister. I chose coordinating teal/turquoise fabrics and a batik white. The pattern was inspired by a quilt I saw on Pinterest. I used Yardage and fat quarters, mostly in batik. I free motion quilted it with an all over water meander pattern on my domestic machine with turquoise thread. I used the left over fabric to make a scrappy binding and backed it in a small turquoise dot print. The trees and the wide border is made from Naturescapes by Deborah Edwards for Northcott. I love how it turned out. The pattern is by sewfreshquilts. I'm making this quilt for a coworkers baby boy, Noah, who was born in May. I used the large animals from the fabric panel on the back of the quilt. UPDATE : I free motioned quilted swirls for the first time on this baby quilt. I learned a lot. I used a scrappy binding. I had seen these fabric panels about 2 years ago and hoped to have a reason to sew them one day. Well one day came and I found out they'd been discontinued. Luckily I found a few left of these 3 panels on some random site and have had so much fun working on this playmat. I think the 3 boys will have plenty of room to play cars and truck together (it's 60x80). To make it more economical, I backed it with some soft flannel I found at a local fabric store. This was my first time doing my own quilting in a random pattern. I used my walking foot and took my time. I decided to extend the roadway by making gray sections on the black border so their cars can run onto the gray border. Over all it was probably the most fun I've had on a project. I can't wait to give it to the triplets at their party. By pollyanna23 10 LIKES | 698 VIEWS Sundrops A quilt I will donate to my local age care palliative ward. I try to make one to donate to them each month. The bright and cheery colours are well-loved in the ward, by staff and patients. I used yardage and a single charm pack (Moda Sundrops) for this.
