Orange Double Friendship Star

MSQC advertised the Kona Color of the Year (Tiger Lily) and this pattern, so I went for it. I ended up making 90 star blocks, and used them all in the quilt, making it a king size! I'll be gifting it to my sister and her husband (die-hard Texas Longhorns) as a housewarming gift when they move back to Texas. This color is probably the closest I (a Texas Aggie) can come to using burnt orange as the feature color in a quilt!

Diamonds Squared

I wanted to feel a fresh breath of spring when I walked into my master bedroom and I achieved it! Instead of quilting this top, I turned it into a king sized duvet cover. It was a lot of work but I’m very happy with the results!

Hexie Quilt

My favorite quilt so far is this bright and cheerful hexie quilt. I purchased the fabric for the quilt from Missouri Star while on a road trip with my sister in June of 2017. I watched a tutorial about making the wedges using a 10 degree wedge ruler and went from there. It was an easy quilt but took a lot of time to cut and sew. I quilted it on an industrial straight stitch machine.

Double Dresden Good Fortune

When I saw Jenny’s tutorial using the new double wide Dresden ruler, I knew I had to make a quilt with it. Not only did I make my quilt but I taught a class! My quilt is on a shimmery lavender background and will go on my king size bed. I made extra blocks to get the bigger size. The fabric has been in my stash over five years just waiting for the right project. It was perfect for this one.

Tennessee Waltz

I made this quilt for my sister for Christmas 2017. The pattern is called Tennessee Waltz and she is 110” square. There are a total of 81 blocks that are 9” finished and 6 borders, including a pieced border. The best part is that she is made entirely from scraps! I didn’t buy a single cut of fabric to make this quilt (except for the backing). I had a ton of scraps in my stash and lots of partial precuts that I had no idea what to do with. Then, lightbulb! This beauty was born.
