Even though it looks chaotic, this quilt was assembled using a procedure. I gathered my scraps, trimmed them into rectangles, stitched the pieces into a strip about two feet long. Sewed 2, 3 or 4 strips together to come out to width of 4-1/2 inches. Combined those together at their ends to make one very long strip. Cut the strip into rhombus shapes. Created hexagons by sewing together 3 rhombus. Sewed together the hexagons to create the chaos you see. While it did use up a lot of my scraps, which I liked, the overall assembly is really not very pleasant to look at. So, different and practical which I can settle for.

My grandson loved dinosaurs so I tried to make a quilt that looks like reptile skin. I do not think I succeeded but oh well…

Lap size 42” sq. Big wind electric generators against a blue shy. I need lessons on how to piece together blocks.

I normally would not take on a t-shirt quilt..not really in my wheelhouse. But, a co-worker of mine unexpectedly lost her mother and asked if I would use her mother's collection of Hard Rock Cafe tees to make a quilt for her. This is what I came up with.

This looks vaguely like an exploding head. Probably from trying to make sense out of this designs. It is so convoluted even I get lost. 74” x 50”.

Wanted a design similar to a Scottish clan tartan. Not sure if I made it. Maybe it is just an interlocked fence. 64” x 40”

Based on the 120 deg angles in a rhombus shape. 48” x 42”

This pattern looks like books, from several angles. 56” x 42”

There is a pattern; it’s just hard to see. 60” x 48”

These are more of the fabrics from my Mom’s stash. It was just an idea borne from something else I was working on that made me think…oh! That would be so pretty to pull this green and deep burgundy floral and make something. Then because it didn’t turn out very big, I decided it must be a laprug and so I played with several quilting designs I wanted to try as fillers, but they would highlight their space.

This is another Lori Holt block pattern from her sew scrappy series. Love her videos, they are easy to follow. This is for my niece who is retiring from teaching.
