Jeanne's Gift

This wall hanging is my first quilt with appliqué. All fabrics were from my stash. The cutouts are from a McCalls Christmas ornament pattern. This took more time than I expected because I kept changing my mind about whether I should use additional embellishments. I was pleased with the end results and had a ton of fun making it.

Well I thought I need some Halloween decoration so I started while working on a Halloween Spiderweb Quilt to talk about this with my Sis. I always wanted (and will do) some door sign with a witch profile (back and front) with The witch is in / out. Sis knows about this as I have been talking about this idea for ages. This was just a training in appliqué as wonky and Halloween go together si nicely.

Just another quack!

I started this star at the Missouri Star forum retreat in 2015. I added the chick to the middle using a Sizzix die and raw edge appliqué. One of the other attendees shared fabric and instructions during our stay. A little quilting makes this a great addition to my sewing room and a symbol of one of my favorite main streets to visit!

Scrap Christmas Tree

This burlap Christmas tree is based on an idea from my local quilt shop but I added lights, trim and ornaments. Lights are powered by a battery pack which is hidden in a pocket in the back of the tree. This was a gift to my daughter last year - 2013.
