Happy or Sad?

So many children have trouble expressing emotions in times of stress or trama. With that in mind, I was given these brown strips and couldn't think what to do with them so I made these teddy bears. The expressions are a little "wonky" but I hope it makes a child smile. The applique' pattern is by Fat Cat Patterns.

Turnstyle

This quilt design and fabric are from Amy Ellis. I saw it on a Moda Blog and loved it and as I started making it I decided I needed something new for our bedroom and bought additional fabric to make pillows/shams and I also added a 6" border in a quilt as you go fashion after the main quilt was finished in order to make it long enough.

Scrappy Pumpkins

I kept seeing such cute pumpkin quilts online and on Instagram and I knew I had to make one too- we just moved into a new town and we are really sprucing our our new house. I found this pattern on Craftsy, by Must Love Quilts. I added 2.5in sashing and a 5.5in border. I used some of my stash fabric and I bought more from my LQS. On my pieced backing, I stitched down some of the selvedges I used. I absolutely love how this turned out and it's perfect for keeping warm all autumn long!

First grandchild

I loved this pattern and made the quilt four years before my first grandchild came along. The appliqué was done needle turn using fabrics from my stash. I told both my children it was for the first grandchild, but if that never occurred I would just donate to a good non for profit to raffle. As they are always looking for fund raisers to continue to serve our young families.

Ocean Tiles

This quilt was made for my 12-year-old granddaughter who requested a quilt with whales. I had to find a large-print pattern and settled on this one from Living Large 2 (instructions required adjustments!). It was machine quilted by Missouri Star Quilt Company.
