maple leaf quilt

This free quilt pattern was on the cover of Family Circle magazine on March 8, 1977. I began working on it several years later and finally finished it about 5 years ago. I ironed stabilizer to the fabric to give it body and then cut out the leaves. I used a tiny zig-zag stitch to applique the leaves to each square. Each square was hand quilted and then the sashing was added. I machine quilted the sashing.
