Hexies in the Library

This is a small quilt that I am extremely proud to show off. I am a middle school librarian in a small southern town with a high poverty rate. One day, a couple of weeks ago the art room was out of commission so all art classes had to meet in the library. With the art teacher’s help we taught the students how to hand sew these hexagons from circles. I then put them together into this quilt. The kids were so excited to see it and proudly pointed out their individual hexagons.
