Front: I Spy Quilt Back: Parasol by Claude Monet

Front: I Spy Quilt Back: Parasol by Claude Monet

Front of Quilt - Today, I was able to finish the quilt label and wrap this gift for my friends', first grandchild, Natalie Rose. I started making these quilts since February '18. I was planning on making 4 I Spy Quilts, B.U.T. I just can not make a 4th one this year. Therefore, I made this quilt a little bigger, 8 Blocks X 8 Blocks or 48" X 48" and used another 24 blocks for the pillow case. I lined the pillow case so she wouldn't have to worry about loose threads. Taking a 2 month hiatus worked to my benefit, because I picked up this project this week and finished the quilting and sewing her together non stop. Back: Is a Panel by Robert Kaufmann - PARASOL by Claude Monet. I was trying to make the back of this quilt simpler to speed up the sewing project. Definitely, cut down my sewing time but I had to be extra careful of not turning any blocks. The results I would definitely do it again. What did I learn? 1. Make one quilt at a time. Cutting and sewing for 4 quilts at once takes away from your success. 2. Keep the back simple. Put all of my creativity into the front side of quilt. Keeping the back simple, will help get the quilt done sooner. 3. Make a sample block first before cutting out all of your fabric. Only to find out, that was not the best method for my skills. 4. My next quilt is already on my sewing table, Quilt of Valor, for my sons boss. Hopefully Christmas Gift. Christmas 2018 is only 62 days away. YIKES God Bless and may you get all of your Christmas Projects done in time for the Holidays. Thanks for listening.
