Mad Rush Christmas Gifts Sewing Frenzy
I bought a couple of center pieces for Christmas gifts and before I realized it, the time had slipped away and now it was a rush job to complete 2 table runners by December 14th. I thought I would pick some easy patterns but interesting. THE DISAPPEARING 4 PATCH Artisan Batiks: Concerto 3 @ Lunn Studios with Kona Cotton White. The four patches went together very easy, but the disappearing part was time consuming. I had to go slow to avoid any errors. A very beautiful outcome and my friend loved it as her Christmas gift. Now with one day left I'll make another table runner that is even more simpler than my first attempt. LOVE NOTES STAR Brights by Benartex and Kona Cotton White. I sewed all of my squares together, cut my squares into triangles, chain stitched my triangle together, sewed 4 love notes together to complete my blocks, but it was 3:30 am and I almost fell asleep ironing my seams open. Needles to say, I didn't finish my table runner in time for lunch but it is finished now, and I'll give it to my friend this week. I learned, do not try a new block on a deadline. While I was sewing, I was thinking that we are crazy, to sew fabric together to cut it up and sew it together again. Once I saw the results, I would do it all over again. Merry Christmas my Friends.
