First Quilt

This was my first finished quilt, which I hand appliqued and hand quilted in the 1980's. I used a pattern in Family Circle magazine. I enlarged the pattern on a grid, cut out all the pieces, then carried the blocks with me on my daily train commute from the suburbs to my work in the Chicago Loop. This quilt was made for and loved by my first daughter, and I am storing it for her along with other baby mementos.
