The FlowerGarden Quilt, designed by M. Golimowski

I started this quilt in 2001 as a block-of-the-month, when I pieced about half the blocks and then stashed it away, but not before one of my daughters saw it and asked if she could have the quilt, when I finished it. I pulled it out this year, when the daughter announced that she was remarrying in October. I have spent nearly every day, all summer, finishing the piecing and quilting the quilt on my home sewing machines. I kept two machines threaded with matching thread, one for seaming and one with a walking foot for quilting. I carried the quilt back and forth across the house, as I seamed and quilted, seamed and quilted, first individual blocks, then pairs of blocks seamed vertically, then columns of pairs, then center columns and outer columns, then borders. Finally, it's done, two weeks before the wedding! It's the largest quilt I've ever finished. Shh...don't tell my daughter, it's a surprise!!!
