Toddler Quilt
I had a lot of 2.5 inch floral squares left over from The Garden Quilt. I decided to try my hand at making an "Irish Chain" design. I joined the floral squares into blocks of 5 rows of 5 squares each, including 5 darker blue squares set on the diagonal. I set together 16 blocks for a lap-sized/ toddler-sized quilt that measures about 40 inches square (after quilting and washing.) I also tried, for the first time, stitching the binding on by machine instead of by hand. I am pleased with the results.
