Mom's Blue Quilt

My 81 year old mother recently sold her home in California and moved into my sister's mother in law apartment. She has always loved blue and is having a blast decorating her new place...thought I would contribute to her blue obsession with this quilt. I bought the center panel and coordinating fabric and thought "it couldn't be too difficult to incorporate the panel into a quilt"...well, boy..was I wrong..I nearly tore my hair out trying to make the blocks/borders work...but, the hassle was worth it because I know she will love it.
