Schrader's Healing Quilt

This quilt was made especially for a friend struggling with mental illness. The fabric is Batik, created using a centuries old technique allowing for artistic freedom as patterns are applied by actual drawing or stamping, rather than by weaving with thread. Each piece is truly unique with characteristics all it's own. Like Schrader. Browns and Copper represent the Earth, the Blues and Ivory represent water and sky. I wanted to reflect the warmth and power of the sun, the calm and soothing sound of the waves with my free motion quilting designs.
