Monster

I decided in 2018 that I needed to have a personal quilt challenge. I found Christmas red and green fabric that yelled buy me, combined those with fabric in my stash and an idea that has been floating in my head for years/decades. What would happen if I crossed the Broken Star with the Feathered Star quilt patterns? I finally mentally figured out how to make the feathered diamonds. However, instead of tracing the diamond template from in a book for the Broken Star, I opted to use a template I bought that was maybe a half inch larger (quarter inch per side) as I wanted a larger quilt anyway. I’m not sure about my math, as I calculated it many times, but it became apparent I was not only off, but way off, and started laughing as the quilt quickly grew. So, I started referring to my challenge quilt as ‘Monster’. Final size is 113 x 113 as I refused/decided it didn’t need a border.
