Butterfly quilt

It never fails to make me feel good giving a quilt I make to someone special. A dear friend of mine was having a serious rough patch with...well practically everything going on in her life. Her birthday was coming up and I wanted to give her something special, so I made her this quilt. I didn't complete it in time for her birthday, but on the card I jokingly said "well I am early for next year." I had just started to learn how to applique and this quilt is far from perfect. Nonetheless, she was in tears when she received the quilt. To see that reaction made all the frustration and seam ripping worth while.
