WACKY WEB IN CITRON GRAY COLOR WAY
I started watching Jenny Doan's MSQC quilting tutorials when I was learning how to sew bags and subscribed right away to the channel. I fell in love with the colors of the Dresden Coin quilt but I was watching so many tutorials at the time I couldn't decide. It was overwhelming! Then I stumbled on the Spiderweb Quilt and I started accumulating supplies. I already had some basic supplies (lots of thread colors and batting) and slowly building supply of precuts to hand (a white on white jelly roll was used). I purchased my charm packs, a layer cake and the periwinkle template and web papers in May 2014. Took me a long time, I had to rip a lot of mistakes out, but the learning process was fun! I used Modern Folkloric charm pack, a Michael Miller Citron Gray Layer cake and Bella Solids Silver charm pack. The sashing is a white on white jelly roll. I obtained yardage of a variety of patterns of the Michael Miller fabric and used that both for the pieced backing as well as for the binding which started out as 3-inch strips but then trimmed down. I did stitch in the ditch quilting for all of the web spokes and line quilting using both straight and curvy stitching for the center diamond shapes.
