Hello. I am 61 years old, married for 43 years, 2 adult children both married, one grandchild. I began sewing at 12 years old and havent stopped since. I have done many many wedding gowns, bridesmaids gowns, mens suits, baked wedding cakes, and catered weddings over the years. I found my passion in quilting. My husband passed away suddenly Oct ober 29, 2014, and I now am alone in this big house with lots of time on my hands. I have been published in Quiltmaker magazine January/February 2015 for my own design, and I call the quilt "Midnight Snowfall". I donate a lot of quilts to charities, and love to do machine embroidery also.

Midnight Snowfall
Living in Missouri, we typically do not get a lot of snow. I adore snow....so I made my own...created my original snowflake dresden quilt block, that turned into a king size quilt. It has been published in Quiltmaker magazine January -February 2015 ssue.

Bow Tie Quilt
I bought some beautiful charm packs, cant remember the name now, but decided to try the Bow Tie quilt design by Jenny Doan. I paired the charm packs with a subtle cream batik, and had so much fun, the quilt top became king sized. I used the charm packs as is, no cutting down, and since they are 5" sq, I just cut them in quarters for the bow tie pieces. Perfect!! So I quilted it, using a batik backing, and decided to gift to a friend. Then I had to make pillowcases to match. Used the batik backing for the body, and had leftover bow tie blocks so I used them to make the cuff on the pillowcases. They turned out perfect!! I am so proud of myself for thinking of using the leftover blocks to create the cuff, which made it so much more coordinated.
