Echobase

Working with the book Quilting with the Muppets, I pieced and appliquéd the quilt and my daughter Beth Magnan quilted it. It was my first attempt at appliqué. We shopped for the fabric at quilt hops and over about 5 months; also used some stash. Then it took about 5 months to make the project. I benefitted from seeing what others had done with Muppets online so I hope this quilt gives ideas to others. I added yarn to Animal and used Heat N Shrink for Oscar's trash can. Miss Piggy got a cut strand of little pearls. I redid the mouth on Grover to add the black dimension as seen on many Muppets sites; it made him look happier! The quilt was a new baby gift for my grandson Louis, but his older brother liked it too. A perfect addition to the wall of their playroom.
