Bobbing Sailboats
While in Sarasota, FL I found a great quilt shop which had lots of beautiful batik beach fabric. I decided to make a quilt for my sister who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She wanted to recuperate from her surgery at her beach house. Hanging up at the quilt shop was a "Baby Sails" quilt. It gave me the idea to use sailboats. I used Atkinson's "Lucky Stars" pattern and substituted sailboats for the stars because I wanted a lap quilt size. Adding 3 borders brought the quilt to the size I wanted. I always use flannel fabric for the backing for extra warmth and snuggle-ness. (Is that a word?)

My daughter in law requested a fall table runner and I found this pattern on Craftsy . Called for paper piecing. A technique o do not care for so I calculated the size for the geese and went with it!

Stained Glass Beauty
My first quilting retreat at Needle in a Haystack - learned how to make this quilt. Of course I never follow anything 'exactly' so I tweaked it to make it my own. This was a bit tricky and I said a few bad words during the making of my quilt so I was afraid it had bad Karma (just joking) but I am very pleased with the outcome. The teacher was Joan Ford from Syracuse NY and we all had a lot of fun at the retreat. For the back of my quilt I used Tree of Life panel surrounded by borders which turned out very nicely. My only dismay was that my grandkids liked the BACK of the quilt better than the hard work on the FRONT!

Christmas bedrunner
This project is a combination of old and new. New ideas from a pattern called Twizzle form the center section of the runner while old favorites in the form of stars make up the end pieces. All the fabrics were scraps from my stash.

Flower Girl
This was my immediate plan when I watched Jenny's tutorial for the Dizzy Daisies. Bright fabrics on a crisp white background! I quilted different flower styles in the pinks and oranges and did vines with leaves on the vertical sashing. Horizontal sashing got rows of little flowers.
