In Memory of My Dad for Matthew
A friend of my daughter's lost his life in a motorcycle accident last fall and left behind an eight year old son. My daughter asked me to do a memory quilt using shirts she got from the family. I just completed a memory quilt for the young boy using the Disappearing Hourglass pattern and I want to share it with you. 9.5 inch squares were cut from the shirts. Thanks Missouri Star Quilt Company for all your great ideas. Love your patterns and tutorials as well as the Block magazine.

Flower Boxes for Reganne
Fun applique pattern found on a recent trip. Made it in a "table runner" size to hang on wall above granddaughter's bed. Makes me smile that she loves it.

My Christmas Stocking
Made from fabrics and deconstructed parts of my wedding dress as well as fabric from bridesmaid dresses, all of which were all stitched by my mother. Also used fabrics from bridesmaid dresses worn at the weddings of my three daughters.

Lauren's Quilt
My daughter, who is in the Air National Guard, was deployed to the Mideast for six months which meant her husband had to care for two young children in addition to running his business. Lauren to the rescue! My son-in-law managed to get the kids to and from day care but beyond that Lauren stepped in not only with the kids but also with some housecleaning. The quilt was made as a thank you to this special young woman.

This red white and blue quilt made a couple years ago for a classmate and friend who was a veteran of the VietNam conflict. He lost his battle with ALS in April of 2015.

Do Elephants Sing?
My friend collects elephants - any and all kinds - and she purchased pieces of the out of print Vera Bradley elephant fabric as it came onto eBay. I made several table runners for her but my favorite is this quilt. The reference to music comes because I used black and white musical note fabric for the backing. I chose to quilt it using a modern straight line method.

Jewel Box Quilt
I made this quilt as a fundraiser for my daughter's school. The pattern is from Eleanor Burns "The Jewel Box". The piano key border and mitered corners on the border add that extra special "wow" factor to the overall design. I love how all the fabrics came together!
