Last kid to get married!
My son, an Army Combat Medic, fell in love with his bride on the internet when he was deployed to Afghanistan. They announced their intentions in March and I got to work. The colors they told me were: Red, Orange, Pink, Blue and Black. I've always done very traditional quilt patterns so this threw me off. Then she said, "You know? Like the sun and the moon?" THAT I could get on board with.
I took another one of my Daghters-in-law with me to pick out the fabrics (she has a GREAT eye) and we went with several batik jelly rolls.
It took me 2 Saturdays (I work full time) to piece it together with my machine and then I started quilting.
I quilt by hand. Between work, band (I'm a drummer), grandkids, volunteering etc, I have to eek out quilting time. I just finished quilting yesterday. It took me 6 months to complete and the wedding is in 10 days!
