I'm 79 years old. I started my second attempt at quilting 15 years ago. I did do some quilting when I was in my 30s but with work and family, I could not devote much time to this craft. I have been married for 50 years and together we have a blended family of 6 children, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. I have made quilts for all of the grand and great grandchildren.

Brad's Quilt
I made this quilt for my sons' friend, Brad, who was fighting terminal cancer. I featured the burst block (taught by Rob Apell for MSQC). I chose the center panel to honor Brad's love of Collies. Brad only lived for 4 weeks after he received his quilt. It is now in the loving hands of his wife, Kim. Rest in peace, Brad.

Hidden Wells QAYG
I made this quilt for my great granddaughter, Edie. It was my first QAYG project and it worked beautifully for me. It won't be my last. I wanted to use Glo In The Dark thread to FMQ this quilt, however, when I pressed my first block, I melted the thread. Had to pick it out of the block. I used regular thread and quilted her name in the border with the Glo In The Dark thread. Lesson learned.

I made this quilt for our dear friend, Rich. He was a Viet Nam Veteran and at the time was fighting terminal cancer. I wanted Rich to know that I appreciated his service and that he was very special to all of us.
