Used leftover 10" squares to piece part of the back. Dutch Treat placemats

I used a package of layer cakes to make 6 placemats. Snowballing the corners was a little tough because of the layout of the tulips. Lots of re-cutting and re-sewing. They are all different in batting and colors.

Patriotic Quartered Stripes-Quilt of Valor

Our local Hospice sewing group member presented a quilt she created from your Quartered Stripes tutorial that intrigued me to use it for a Quilt of Valor. Stripes were not the typical uniform variety, but had variations that made the assembly interesting. The border was a group effort, with approvals from three Freedom Stitchers of Iowa members.

Modern Migration

I made this quilt for Hubby. I saw Sue Bouchard demonstrate this Modern Migration quilt on YouTube, and I fell in love with it. Last year while in Paducah I stopped by Eleanor Burns' shop and saw the pattern and bought it. I had the slate grey fabric laying around that I just couldn't figure out a purpose for and decided to try it with this pattern. I used batiks for the flying geese and it's got a nice soft flannel backing so Hubby can cuddle with it while watching TV.

we recently got a new niece in our family. my brother married her mom and this girl is a whipper snapper! i asked her what she wanted for christmas, and she said anything pink and blue. she got a new bedroom so we decided on new bedding. she stayed wrapped up in it all winter.
