Disappearing 9 Patch - Couch to Quilt Project
I needed a quilt, I had a pattern, project box, and a little motivation. You do get a charm pack and white fabric for the border included in this kit. In order to make the Disappearing 9 Patch I needed another charm pack. I sewed all my 9 patches. Cut them up, Sewed them back together. Added Sashing. Added a border. Now it is time to send it off to MSQC. I read the directions - OOPS! I wasn't suppose to make it bigger. I am calling in the morning to see if I can still have it quilted. I learned something very important - READ DIRECTIONS FIRST BEFORE ANY SEWING PROJECT. The quilt ended up cute and will make a great gift. U.P.D.A.T.E.: The MSQC staff is excellent at solving problems. Before calling them I was curious at how much it would cost to have it machine quilted. I put my inches into their calculator, now I had an idea of the actual cost. During our phone conversation, since it was my error I asked how much more would it cost to have it machine quilted? The cost was 1/3 the cost of the actual machine quilting cost. {Thank-You} I offered to include the backing and complete the binding. I just finished the backing, - a fat quarter Disappearing 9 patch - 1 block. Thanks for making it possible to finish this quilt. I now have my first Christmas Present for 2016. {I will update pictures when it is finished.} MSQC - is one of the friendliness companies out there.
2ND UPDATE: WHEW! I just finished the binding and I am off to wrap this gift. I just love the colors and the flange binding. The more quilting that you do, your quilting skills do improve. I am updating the pictures. Thanks and Merry Christmas Everyone.
