I work and volunteer at our local Salvation Army Corps office, and the kitchen manager served in the military. I applied for a Quilt of Valor for him, but it was determined since he wasn't in combat or an actual conflict, he did not qualify. I made a personal quilt for him to thank him for his service in Germany, and presented before he is to have shoulder surgery this month. With the temperatures in the teens, it will be a warm recovery tool for him.

Sewcial Baby Infant / Toddler Baby Booties

Adorable baby booties created by me with fabric I bought from Missouri Star on clearance and have been hoarding since it is getting very hard to get. I just love sock monkeys and thought these baby booties were the perfect opportunity to use some of the fabric. I pre-quilted the main sock monkey fabric with lush wool batting and lined it with coordinating monkey fabric. My World Travel Bag

I've been wanting a quilted travel bag that isn't too big, but can hold my iPad, small purse, passport, etc. I saw the Riley Blake "Our World" and knew I had to make my travel bag with this fabric. I bought the fat quarter on sale and have more than enough to make at least one more bag. Next time I will use Jenny's zipper technique with the tabs. Would have finished it off nicely. But we live and learn by each item we make. I quilted the sides with 1" diagonal lines. The bag has plenty of room for my items and can't wait to use on my trip to Cancun in December. I hope you like it.
