My 2015 Row by Row
As a new quilter, I thought this would be fun to do. I picked up 1st block at my quilting store. Then I threw out my back, so nothing for a few or so. Then hubby and I went on a road trip and collected 6 more blocks. This was fun as we got exposed to new quilt shops, although the first was an hour away and others even further. We enjoyed our day, but too tired with sore back to pick up 8th block. The next day, my daughter and I went for hair appointment, out of town, and went to quilt store and picked up 8th block. Needless to say we did not leave any of the stores with just the blocks. So I have accumulated a healthy stash of fabrics, batiks, sewing notions and tools. So following the weekend I started putting together. Unfortunately for me, I had never done paper piecing, Bargello, or much appliqué. So at night I would Google for how-to. I got it done and went to shop to pick out a binding fabric, and learned that no one had claimed at my favorite store. Yeah. So at 1:30pm I started quilting for the next twelve hours, sustained only by water, crackers and cheese. Finished at 2pm. Next morning, hubby drove me to quilting store to claim my prize. I was so pleased, and he says that he's glad that I keep saying I am not competitive. I'm not but I like a challenge. Here's my quilt, which my cats have given their seal of approval.
