I made this table runner for my Mom at Christmas. I used Jenny's quilt tutorial. It went together very easy & was my first time machine quilting. I washed it so it would have that old quilt look.

Holiday Tree Placemats

Part II - My first attempt at Applique. After watching Applique Tutorials, this saved me time and patience. I had fun and would do it again. These are the matching placemats to the table runners that I posted earlier. My cousin, Chris, is sponsoring a winter wonderland for her Church. She is responsible for 2 tables. I offered to help her by making these Tree Placemats. The fabric is beautiful, Holiday Magic - Trim a Tree, by Benartex., & Artisan Batiks - Noel Cloud Metallic Yardage, by Robert Kaufman. I had a lot of fun making these. I didn't realize the time it would take to make 20 placemats. Next time I would buy a pattern for this project instead of using a picture. The pattern does all the quilting math and that is so worth it. Merry Christmas my friends.

Christmas Stockings for Kyle and Talya

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

A quilting buddy gave me this Christmas panel last year but being a 'newbie' at quilting I didn't know what to do with it. Then I saw the MSQC attic window tutorial and problem solved - except I didn't have any concept of how large it would become. Way too big for a wall hanging so I decided to add some blocks to the side, and an outer border to give it more width and I have a Christmas snuggle quilt! I used silver metallic thread to quilt snowflakes on it.

Jelly Roll Twist

This is my 2nd Jelly Roll Twist, done in Bloom and Bliss fabric. Since I had so much left over fabric, I decided to make another one. The differences between the two: I used a pink floral for the border on this one, a pink blender fabric for backing and binding, and quilted it myself. (1st one was done by a long armer) These are a lot of fun to make...but on to my next quilt...Jenny's Nine Patch Swap!

sewing table

I wanted to share my new sewing table my husband made. It truly has been a labor of love. I still have my little sewing nook, but have grown out of it. I have now taken over my kitchen, where I used to have a table with six chairs. My new sewing table is a 4' x 6'. It has nine front drawers for all my fabric storage, and three back drawers for notions. My sewing machine is now a drop down, so I can sew/quilt with a flat surface. It also has a pull out/in ironing board. After it was installed, I was surprised with lights just under the top surface. My husband did a beautiful job, and I will enjoy it for years to come!

Couch Cover for a Kleenex Box

Last week my friend, Lynne, bought a kleenex cover from a craft show. The booth only had college fabric. She showed it to me and said too bad they didn't make it with regular fabric. Well, this got me inspired to see if I could duplicate it. The first one I made was cute but the way that I designed it, it wasn't easy to reproduce. So I went to You Tube and watched tutorial, looking for the best pattern and design. I love this. I am going to have to purchase more fabric because I just don't have a lot of couch fabric in my stash. Oh well, we have to do what we have to do. Here is the Tutorial that I found on line.
