  Underground Railroad Sampler ala Eleanor Burns

  Our quilt club did a BOM using Eleanor Burns Underground Railroad sampler book. It was a lot of fun and as a new quilter, I learned new techniques. I am currently hand quilting this quilt so it's not yet completed.

  Stack and wack

  I took a class for this with from a member of our guild and was sure I could never do it. As you can see I have only gotten the top done so far. It is a good idea to have someone to show you how to do it versus just reading about it. I have used the left over fabric to make smaller squares that I will use in the backing. I really like this technique now and when you do it once, you never forget it.

  In Honor of our forefathers...

  For some reason, maybe it is the color lines, but I really love the Civil War patterns and Underground Railroad patterns. After making this quilt, which took a year, now my family are asking for civil war reproduction quilts.
