  • TO MY GRANDDAUGHTER
    TO MY GRANDDAUGHTER

This quilt was made with lots of love for my little "Precious Moment", Autumn Rose...my granddaughter. Hopefully she'll have and cherish for many years to come. I'm a beginner quilter. Ever since I started watching Jenny's (Missouri Star Quilt Co.) tutorials, quilting has been a wonderful experience. Loving pinwheels, I watched her Fast & Easy Pinwheels tutorial and decided to make a pinwheel quilt for my granddaughter. I added a border of tumblers. Quilted by Sandi's Quilted Touch.

  • The Koi Quilt
    The Koi Quilt

I made this quilt for my daughter and husband. They love koi fish and when I was visiting them, they took me to a park in San Francisco where I was able to take some pictures of koi swimming in a pond. The fish were printed from my photos on white linen. I added some fabrics and then painted them with fabric paints and appliqued them onto the background "water" fabric. I decided to enhanced them with thread. I added the large waves and borders. It was quite the project and I was pleased with the result...and they loved it!

  • Robin's Log Cabin
    Robin's Log Cabin

My goal for 2016 is to complete 6 to 12 of my many UFOs. To help accomplish that goal, I took pictures of each one and contacted my 5 nieces and asked them if they would like one of the quilts made by Aunt Susan. This is the first completed quilt for my first-born niece, Robin. Quilted by Missouri Star Quilt Co.

  • I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK
I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK

It's a phrase my grandson and I share and because of his love of the sky, stars, moon, and planets I found this fabric appropriate. He loves his quilt and sleeps under the stars every night. May he treasure it forever. Quilted by Sandi's Quilted Touch

This quilt is for a grandson. He chose the pattern and the Michael Miller fabric. What would I do without the MSQC web site?

  • Bradley's Beach
    Bradley's Beach

MSCQ really saved me on this quilt. My 8 yr. old grandson wanted a beach quilt. He saw the "waves" fabric on the internet. It was already Sept. and the fabric was sold out everywhere. I had looked at MSCQ first, but it was unavailable. I put it on my wish list thinking, "Summer is over, it will not be available ever again." BUT low and behold! I got an e-mail from MSQC. The item on my wishlist was in. YAY!! Dancing in the quilt studio. I really am a piecer and had no pattern for this quilt. It was trial and error, but my grandson loves it. I machine appliqued and quilted it on my Janome 7700.Thanks again, MSQC.

  • Acorns to Mighty Oaks
    Acorns to Mighty Oaks

I was recently introduced to a local charity, 'Quilts For Comfort' and the addictive craft of quilting at about the same time, so always being one to jump in at the deep end I began with bed quilts! This is my second attempt using an entirely wrong system of quilting as I went and linen fabric which had been a bit of a bargain buy. The results (as always) aren't perfect but I'm happy with them...............Too easily satisfied?

A couple of years ago my daughter was having eye problems, which lead to an MRI and the discovery of a brain tumor. While waiting for a diagnosis, I started a quilt for her out of the happiest and softest fabrics I could find. I was really in no condition to sew, but I at least got the blocks done. After another MRI and other tests, she found out the tumor is benign, not affecting her health, and doesn't appear to be growing. What a relief! I had trouble finishing this quilt because of remembering the stress at that time. But I have 12 unfinished quilts, 8 of which are completed tops.. This is UFO #1 finished in 2016! Stay tuned for further developments...

  • Zeke's Catepillar is Hungry
    Zeke's Catepillar is Hungry

Jonathan and Esther both have Veggie Tale quilts made out of Veggie Tale book panels. Apparently, that's all of the panels they're going to make. So Zeke's baby quilt had to be something different. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a favorite children's book and Eric Carle's panels are perfect for a little wall hanging for Zeke.
