Recently a fellow quilter in our Tuesday morning group asked me to complete these mats for her. She had cut 2 but due to a fall and broken bone in her right hand couldn't cut material for a bit. She was able to sew a bit thankfully. As she is past 90 the hand was taking longer to heal and during the healing process her husband of 70 plus year died also. She had been missing from our group for sometime. I was honored she asked me rather than more experienced quilter in our group and so glad to do it for her. I did have enough leftover materials to also do a table runner for her. Though the placemats are different scenes the runner shows the complete little community of a small farm town in the 1800 to 1900 timeline.
