Retired and bought a new sewing machine! I've been sewing my whole life, from doll clothes, to my own clothes, my kids' clothes, and now quilting. I am grandmother to one boy and furry momma to a corgi and four cats (two are gorgeous rag dolls). I live in the heart of PA quilt/tourist country with fabric shops galore but still buy quite a lot from MSQC.

Bunnies in the garden
I did this as quilt as you go, starting with the nine patches in the center and joining with the green strips. Used different fabric and black strips on the back. Then added the border sections, quilting each before joining it to the center square. Center is a piece of the bunny fabric encircled with lettuce leaves. Top panel is supposed to resemble sunflowers and has buttons enhanced with embroidery. This is reversible, queen size.

Purple throw
Made this thow to go with a queen sized quilt. It is mostly batiks and has minkey on the back. I hand stitched it together with no batting between but used black crochet cotton to make decorative stich especially.

Another Triangle Frenzy
I had purchased this fabric on a whim, since I like morning glories. One was a stripe design and the other a companion on smaller flowers. Used the triangle frenzy pattern as it calls for a border print or stripe. I made two sizes. One is placemat size and by adding more inserts between it can be any length.

Picnic tablecloth
This is a broken four square with a watermelon yardage border print around the edge. It will be reversible with white and a red plaid ant print on the back. No batting. Just top stich ed for stability. A Moda Vintage Picnic jolly bar was the main ingredient.

Cutting Corners plus more
This is basically Jennie's Cutting Corners design plus I added sashing between the blinks, tuned them all the sane way by rows, and added some borders to make it queen size. Took every bit of a pastel jelly roll plus sashing and yardage. The solid half of the block is a cream and blue very subtle batik.

There Will Be No More Talk About Yo-yos
About three years ago my Guild's President's Challenge was to create a quilt with a rainbow hiding in plain sight. The yo-yo circles were stitched, by machine, to the quilt sandwich BEFORE they were drawn up into yo-yos. This created the actual quilting that looks like bubbles on the quilt back.. On the back I also added a few miscellaneous circles as if they were being pulled through the quilt sandwich to become more yo-yos. The quilt was the only double award winner, taking Viewer's Choice & Best Contemporary Interpretation of a Traditional Design. As an added nod, it was selected to be included as one of the quilts pictured in a set of note cards published by the Guild this past year.

Pinwheels and Merry Go Rounds
I decided to try the flying geese block so I googled different methods of making them, drew up a pattern where the pinwheel is basically a Dutchman's Puzzle and the other is just a square with one partial seam. I used the extra geese to border the back so I could practice trying to get the front and back lined up with very limited floor space. I figured out when it comes to flying geese, I prefer herding cats.
