For my nephew
This is the first quilt I ever made. I made it for my newborn nephew. My sister decorated the nursery in turquoise and browns, so I started my fabric selections there, then added some yellow to brighten it up some. The binding was a real challenge for me, but I'll keep practicing. I used the beginning quilter series on diaryofaquilter.com

Valentine quilt
My son has a valentine's birthday, and loves hearts. He asked me to make him a valentine's quilt for his birthday. He helped me choose the fabrics, and said he wanted one big heart in the middle.

Color quilt
My daughter asked for a quilt with "all the colors, except pink." She also requested triangles. She picked all of the fabrics. I made a silly math error at the beginning, and the triangles are half as big as intended. This one took me a lot longer than anticipated!

I saw this 'Y' quilt pattern online, and had to have it. After cutting several different versions in many different fabrics, I decided to go with the blue/gray combination. It took several days of arranging and rearranging before I found the visual that was most pleasing to me. I entered this into the local county fair in 2014. While I didn't win any awards from the judges, I did win 'viewer's choice' with this wall hanging.

Butterfly Waves
Inspired by a wave looking blue Bargello I saw online. Thought I would give bargello a try. A method my grandmother used all the time. I used a batik jellyroll and left out the pinks. It was VERY narrow but the wide borders framed it nicely and made it a great size for a lap quilt, about 64"x46"

Scrap Quilt
I wanted to make a scrap quilt. I cut all of the pieces that were not big enough to get a 10" square out of into 5" and 2 1/2" pieces. When I got done I realized that I had colors divided by brights and muteds. This is what I made from the brights. The pattern is Jelly Turnover from the Moda Bakeshop.
