I started this double wedding ring quilt with great intentions of making it at least a queen sized but I changed my mind after completing one circle!! This is not a pattern I want to do again. I even used my AccuQuilt Go double wedding ring dies to cut out the shapes but sewing them together was so tedious. I stopped when I had it big enough to be a baby play mat and called it a day. Knowing myself, I’ll wait until the memory fades and try it again!

Dutchman’s Puzzle

I have done this pattern several times. This was done with two layers cakes, one of them being batiks. It’s one of those patterns that you don’t have to think much about, just a lot of trimming half square triangles and pressing seams open! I quilted it on my long arm alternating ruler work and free motion quilting.

This is my first king sized quilt that I finished myself on my long arm. I decided to stick with a simple meander for this one as I just wanted it done and the thought of ruler work on a quilt this size was overwhelming! I’m very happy with how it turned out.

A Slice of Cake

This is from the book Easy Layer Cake Quilts 2. I made it into a king sized quilt and did the quilt-as-you-go method. It is VERY bright in the room….perhaps too much so for my taste. My future daughter-in-law loves it so I will most likely gift it to her.

I loved this pattern. It was lots of work but worth it. I made this as a baby play mat but plan on making another larger one as I had so much fun with it. A great project to use up all those strips of batting from large quilts that I usually toss into a bin.
