This little wall quilt is a relica of a painting done by my late mother. After she passed away, my sister and I found the painting, which we'd never seen before. We're pretty sure it depicts our mom's perception of what it would be like when she got the heaven. The lady in the painting looks very much like our mom in her "new body," which she always said would be a size 8.... Naturally, both my sister and I wanted the keep the painting... so we compromised by working one weekend to recreate the painting in the form of a wall quilt. My sister traced sections of the painting onto fusible web and fabric, then I appliqued everything onto a base fabric, The applique work was done through batting and the back to add texture. When we finished, the new argument was over who got the quilt and who got the painting! We've agreed to each take one and swap from time to time as a compromise.

This wall quilt was for my first grandson, Jack. It is appliqued and quilted by machine. It was one of my earliest quilts, but is still one of my faves!
